BNP Paribas Cardif and Qover announce partnership for the digitalisation of flagship insurance product

24 June 2021
In a nutshell

BNP Paribas Cardif, the world leader in creditor insurance, announces its partnership with the international InsurTech Qover for the purpose of advancing its digital transformation in Belgium.

Through this collaboration, the two companies have teamed up to develop an innovative digital BtoC solution for BNP Paribas Cardif's flagship product, the Mortgage Payment Protection Insurance (MPPI).

As subscribing to a MPPI can be complex, particularly due to the medical requirements, it was essential for BNP Paribas Cardif in Belgium to simplify the process and ensure a smooth and efficient experience for its partners and end-users. With this objective in mind, the two companies have completely reviewed and redesigned the MPPI online flow.

Qover is supported by C. Entrepreneurs venture capital fund, created by BNP Paribas Cardif with Cathay Innovation.

Jean-Michel Hermange, Chief Strategy and Digital Officer at BNP Paribas Cardif in Belgium commented on this collaboration:

“By partnering with Qover, we were able to benefit from both their technical knowledge and digital insurance expertise. They developed a solution for us in record time, and also helped us to simplify processes such as signature and medical acceptance. We look forward to exploring other projects together.”
The Open API solution can be integrated by any BNP Paribas Cardif partner

From a customer point of view, it is simple and easy: the user accesses a BNP Paribas Cardif website where he/she can subscribe to the insurance product by answering the specified questions and receives his/her personalised rate. The signature process is fully digitalised. The front-end website is accessible without the intermediary of a broker.

This digital solution can be integrated by any of BNP Paribas Cardif's partners, using Open API technology. The first partner to launch is the online bank Keytrade Bank which offers MPPI via this solution.

Quentin Colmant, CEO and Co-founder of Qover stated:

“We are thrilled to be the partner of choice for the digitalisation of one of BNP Paribas Cardif's flagship products in Belgium. A collaboration such as this one, between a scale-up and a major historical player, is a step in the right direction in a world in full digital transformation. At Qover, we aspire to create real value for our partners. Speed and flexibility are part of our DNA.”
