In a nutshell
  • ING has become an MGA, meaning it can now directly accept insurance applications, handle claims, and collect premiums.
  • Qover's technology platform orchestrates multiple insurers and products so ING can deliver a seamless insurance experience.

ING has announced a significant step in its insurance strategy: the bank is now officially a managing general agent (MGA), with tech powered by Qover.

Until now, ING's 800,000 customers took out insurance through the bank but had to turn to the insurer for all practical matters. That changes as ING will now directly accept insurance applications, handle claims and collect premiums on their behalf.

Qover is the technology partner behind this launch. We provide the orchestration layer – connecting multiple insurers, managing multiple products and enabling seamless customer experiences through one platform – so ING can focus on what it does best: serving its customers.

Quentin Colmant, CEO & Co-founder of Qover, said: "When we introduced embedded insurance orchestration to the market in 2022, this is exactly the kind of partnership we had in mind. ING focuses on serving customers. The insurers focus on underwriting risk. And we orchestrate the capabilities that bring it all together. This was one of the most complex programs we've ever delivered – and it's a genuine validation of what this technology can do at scale."
